Economy – The Jamaican Economy requires prudent management and the should be managed by the Prime Minister and his/her cabinet. The quality of this, as in all things, dependent on the competence of the Prime Minister and cabinet along with the systems they use to achieve it. We believe a series of systems should be introduced to alter the present powers of the Prime Minister and change the people appointed to the cabinet.
Cabinet appointees should go through an open and transparent selection procedure. Then ratified by both Houses of Parliament. Other appointments, such as, Judges, Commissioners of Police and Corrections and Executives of government agencies should follow a similar process. The cabinet will see the very best minds in the field being nominated for appointment. Tried and proven men and women of talent and know-how will be our ministers. Not just a member of parliament – but a man of talent from the field.
Education - The Education of our citizens should be completely free to the Jamaican people. The quality of any society depends on their care, protection and application of their people at all ages and stages of life – including those behind bars. To this end the renumeration will be among the best in the society and at world competitive standards. It is about time a teachers worth was acknowledged as truly worthy.
Security – A nations social life cannot exist and develop without proper and adequate protection of the decent human and other basic rights of every citizen. Fair play and justice to the person is the bedrock of security. We insist that until all are provided for non will be safe. An increase in the complement of the security forces will also play a key and feature role in the procurement of citizens rights. These law officers will be given the very best our country can offer for until this area is secure non of us are.
