Why not support the JLP or PNP?

July 25, 2007

Hi DK,

Thanks for your question. Elections are suppose to be about our principles. There are a set of principles that the National Democratic Movement, NDM, stand for that cannot be found in the two major parties.

  • Separation of Powers (Three equally powerful arms of government)
  • Nominations, hearings and then appointment to the major positions
  • Systemic changes to the way the country and its business is done
  • Participatory Practices for the highest to the lowest levels
  • Removal of Income Taxes over 5 year period
  • Decentralization of Government Functions
  • Dismantling of “Garrison Politics”
  • Value for money to citizens
  • Apprenticeship Programs

The JLP has not accepted the ideas of the NDM but for a few.  The PNP seems to pick, choose and refuse most of the tenets of our policies else they would have implemented them by now. Using it for playing politics to carrot the citizens then whip them based on their agenda at the time.

Our founding President and other officers and candidates may now be there but the ideas have not gone there with them. Other NDM officers and candidates also are now with the PNP and they have nothing to say on the NDM policies either. It seems their move was motivated by expedience instead of on principle.

Many of the most important things that the NDM stand for do not yet to be discussed let alone accepted by the ranks of the JLP or PNP.  Because it does not really serve them to have these people policies in place.  It is one thing to have returned but quite another to return with conditions (to pretend that you do not believe in the NDM values or that the NDM does not exist.  I do not know what causes JLP/PNP to hold so firmly against the many other good thing the NDM has in mind but that is for them to work out.

All the NDM members and supporters can do is keep on saying and singing the same songs that we believe in. The NDM platform represents us! There is Another Way, JAMAICA! to undo the problems of the past and set a great course for the future. If only our citizens will come to realize that together we can change the system.

Portmore Toll, Sent me to Canada!

July 23, 2007

From: L O – Date: Jul 22, 2007 7:42 AM

Well that’s what I was saying from I was living  in Jamaica, the toll was one of the reason that my family move from portmore. I used to work in town and I live in portmore so you know is was two times daily for me. It was getting very hard.

No lie,  in Jamaica it is too hard for it to be helped, knowing where corruption is concerned – So I am just trying to get my family out!  I hope everyone try to do the same.  It is unfortunate that everyone can’t do it but one day, change will come.

I love jamaica to death, but I will have to represent it from Canada.  Thanks.

Hi Di_M / SG,

Thanks for your words, I agree most of what you say except the so called bad words.

This is a new effort that is trying to bring Another Way, JAMAICA! in the things we say, do and believe in.  It is an online effort and very new that is why you have not heard about it before now.

About politics – I am someone that has run in elections for the NDM twice. I agree with you that the winning candidate should represent us and do things for us. Now that has not been happening and that is why we are working on developing theis idea of Another Way, JAMAICA!

You are clearly a conscious Jamaican and wish to see things change for the better.  If you have a burning issue you would like to introduce or focus on please let us know about it.  Looking out for you next note on the issues.

One Love.

3. Yes Di M / SG,

Thanks again, I agree with the things you say. If the people was feeling the JLP or NDM, then by now the PNP would have lost the elections and be out in the field.  I too notice the things you talk about and know that until some real field work starts to happen the change will never come about.

This effort is not just plain politics of vote for me or vote for them.  It is to try and get to us, at first, we in the online community to join forces and start demanded the types of changes we wish to see.

For example:

We are using www.VibesConnect.com and with about 50,000 of it membership being Jamaicans. Now if half of us (25,000) come together in 5 groups around

  • Education – Implement “What Works” models to replace that which does not
  • Health – Assist, audit and augment the present state of the centers and hospitals
  • Commerce – Bring conscious and conscientiousness back to buying and selling
  • Crime – Become our brothers keepers ensuring others have access and use thereby no reason to “try taking it away” from another
  • Agriculture – Resetting the basis and platform of production and reward to farmer and those that would be interested in the new flourishing Agri-Processing Industry.

Each group having some 5,000 people to work on any project we feel will help our causes.

With so many persons working in unity we can do anything. We can Design, Plan, Lobby, Petition and Demonstrate (when required) and must be taken seriously by everybody.  Anytime we wish we can get media attention and money (plenty hands make work light) to carry out our intended projects and plans for the benefit of the wider Jamaican Society.  Do you see where this can lead to?  Catch the “Vibes & Connect” my friend!

Yes Di M /SG,

Welcome then to Another Way, JAMAICA! Di M /SG, Good to hear that you feel this way!

Right now I think building of the groups and teams at his time is most important.  Getting more of us that feel this way on broad is where I will ask you to begin.

1. Work on the members in your friend circle and have them send “Add as a friend” to this Another Way JAMAICA! profile.

2. We have been working on a website for housing all this it is called: http://www.LifeWeLove.com/Citizens

Go to it, sign up and make suggestions.

3. Give me permission to post our discussions on some public blogs (You should do this too) so Jamaicans everywhere can start to hear and feel a buzz coming including and especially those living overseas.  This should interest them a lot.

That should hold us for a three or so days.  We’ll check out the progress then.

Thanks

YOU CAN GO AHEAD AND USE THE DISCUSSION IN ANYWAY THAT YOU THINK WILL ENHANCE THE IMAGE OF THE ORGANISATION. AND ITS A PLEASURE TO BE APART OF CHANGE

Buying & Selling “your VOTE”

July 15, 2007

Hi  F20,

Thanks for bringing BUYING THE VOTE to light.

Why only $5,000 – Why not $100,000 or even $1,000,000?

“Anything unsustainable will lead to the ruination of one and his or her people.”

This is one example of the types of things that we have to get rid of in the Jamaican politics of today.  Our country and economy is where it is because of this and other similar dishonourable practices of some politicians and parties. It clearly continue to the present time as well.

You and your friends can help to change these things and cause JAMAICA to become what it was really intended to be. A country for freedom, peace, love, joys and understanding. A land we love.  It is time for a change of attitude and a change of heart. Not only for the politicians but for we the people as well.

When you and others like you are ready for Another Way, JAMAICA! Jamaica will be waiting – wake up my friend. With this approach so much more trouble will be coming our way.

There is Another Way, JAMAICA.  Help me help us to get there!

Avoiding Politics in Jamaica

July 15, 2007

Hello J,

Thanks for saying it like you see it. I just have to say these things though.

Wouldn’t you like to see Another Way, in JAMAICA?

One where when people have problems they can all get together and sort it out and everybody leaves happy. That cannot happen if we all allow the present way in which politics is conducted to continue.

I am just a simple man like you and your family members. I have decided to stand for a Jamaica that is kind, just, loving and considerate of the troubles that people have. Most times we hear how we cannot afford this and that but we all know it is not true.

How will the truth be know if we leave who are there to keep telling us anything?

How do we help ourselves and our children have a greater tomorrow when we pretend what’s happening is not happening?

This is not meant to get you involve directly but to cause you to think about what would happen if all of us do what you are doing. Then for sure anything will happen. We can do better than that. We must for our sakes and for our children.

Thanks for listening.

CCCampbell.
